NETWORK MODEL

We do network model by group.In this model, we have network architecture. 2 types of network architecture are peer to peer and client server. In this model, we use client server.Client server in which one or more computers acts as server, and the other computer on the network(clients) request services from the server.Client server have advantages and disadvantages.Advantages of client server is it works with any size of networks and does not tend to slow down with heavy use.If the server goes down if effects all the computers in the network is disadvantages of client server.Then, network topology.3 types of network topology are bus network, star network and ring network.We use star topology. A physical star topology uses a switch where all the nodes are connected by cables.Logical star topology, all data transfer from one node to another passes through the switch until reaches the destination node.Switch is suitable for large network such as office building we use in this model.Advantages of star topology is adding or removing a node does not affect the rest of the star network.Disadvantages is if the central device (hub/ switch) fails, the entire star network fails.Lastly is classification of network.We use LAN.A local network(LAN) is a network that connects computers and devices in a limited geographical area such as office building, school and etc.Characteristics of LAN are area of coverage, network ownership, transmission media, and communication device.Allow users on the network to share resources, such as printer is advantages of LAN. Disadvantages is area covered is limited. |
